“It may safely be received as an axiom in our political system,” Hamilton noted, “that the State governments will, in all possible contingencies, afford complete security against invasions of the public liberty by the national authority.” Hamilton, The Federalist Papers, Ltr. 28, ¶8. For anyone paying attention, it should be easy to see that this statement no longer holds true.
The symptoms of the national government’s invasion of the public liberty was best described by Madison. Quoting Montesquieu, Madison referred to it as “magical” – “Who cannot be strangers to the pretended doctrine, that a change in the political form of civil society has the magical effect of dissolving its moral obligations.” Madison, The Federalist Papers, Ltr. 43, ¶11.
I can’t take my neighbor’s wallet without his consent is basic, moral stuff, right? Yet, somehow, if the national government takes my neighbor’s wallet without his consent and gives it to a country like Ukraine in order to carry out an unconstitutional war, then somehow, magically, that’s morally ok. You steal, you go to jail. DC politicians steal, they’re rewarded.
How did we arrive at our constitutional crisis? There were two changes made to our Constitution that destroyed the “complete security” that the state governments initially provided against the encroachment of the national government. First, we wrested control of the Senate from the states with the 17th Amendment by giving the power of electing Senators to the mob, otherwise known as the 51% majority. Second, we took the power of the state to control Presidential Electors and made them a rubber stamp for the mob as well.
These two changes took the power of the states to control the national government and gave it over to the factious political parties through the majority rules principle of democracy. As such, the states have begun to fade away into powerlessness and insignificance as the border invasion illustrates better than anything else. The national government, on the other hand, has been consolidating power as it continues to expand and grow into the leviathan we see today.
We’ve had plenty of experts over the years come onto the scene with solutions they claimed would fix the problem of our out-of-control national government. Those experts told us to pass a balanced budget amendment. They also told us that we need to hold a Constitutional Convention in order to basically rewrite our U.S. Constitution. Others come around at every election season to tell us that we just need to elect the right people to political office, and they’ll fix it. Still, others think that starting another political party is the answer.
None of these suggestions will do anything but further exacerbate our problems with the political class in D.C. If we truly want to save our Constitutional Republic, we need to look to the Framers for the answers – not the pundits.
The Framers were geniuses. The political class, on the other hand, is filled with nothing more than mental pygmies, when compared to the Framers. I’ve been writing about the real solution the Framers gave us for many years. The only non-violent path to saving our Constitution and, thereby, our country, is for the states to reassert their status and take back their power, which they ceded over to the corrupt political parties.
Yesterday, we saw the beginnings of this assertion, when Governor Greg Abbott of Texas defied a corrupt and compromised judicial system and refused to comply with SCOTUS’ unconstitutional order. Today, we learned that a number of Governors are also standing with Governor Abbott in his decision to defend his state against an illegal invasion. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2024/01/developing-red-state-governors-stand-texas-against-lawless/ Clearly, Texas is the leader in this movement to save our U.S. Constitution.
Like so many others throughout the country, other Governors are fed up with the constitutionally destructive forces that permeate the D.C. establishment. While it is an important step that Governor Abbott has taken, it’s still not enough. He now needs to ignore the 17th Amendment and convince his state legislature to start appointing their own Senators in order to ensure their loyalty to the state of Texas and NOT to a political party. The 17th Amendment is patently unconstitutional as I’ve written about a number of times as it eviscerated the basic constitutional republican form of government established in our Constitution.
He then needs to convince the state legislature to repeal their state laws affecting their Presidential Electors and go back to how it is set up in our Constitution. The Electors are supposed to be selected temporarily for their loyalty, knowledge and expertise, and they are to meet privately in order to vote for the most qualified Presidential candidate.
In Letter 68, Hamilton explained that the republican principles underlying the Electoral College would help to: (1) maintain the power of the states; (2) avoid “tumult and disorder” during the election of the President; (3) ensure the election of the most qualified person to the office of the President; and (4) curtail the influence of foreign governments. These are all extremely important reasons that do not hold in today’s democratically controlled Presidential elections.
Governor Abbott has taken the first step to save our Constitution by standing up to a compromised and corrupt judicial system. If he takes these next two steps as I have outlined above, he will clearly inspire other Governors to do the same. Once this assertion happens on a larger scale, power will be ripped from the dirty hands of the political elites and returned back to the states where it belongs.
The political parties will be destroyed along with all of their graft, deceit and treason. It really is that simple. Return the power to control the national government back to the states, and they will become the “complete security against invasions of the public liberty by the national authority” once more.
After this change takes place, we can then start the work needed to change our state governments from democracies to the “Republican Form of government” guaranteed by our U.S. Constitution in Article IV, §4 and thereby destroy the Marxists and their treason once and for all.

I pray… Let it be so.🙏♥️
