The Last Stage of National Humiliation
The Framers were originally sent to Philadelphia to amend the Articles of Confederation, but history shows that they did no such thing. Instead, they threw out the old and drafted an entirely new Constitution that established a Republican form of government.
In spite of the animosity towards the proposed Constitution, according to Hamilton, there was actually a general concession at the time that the Confederacy did not work, and everyone actually acknowledged its deficiencies – “understandings and feelings of all classes of men assent, and which in substance is admitted by the opponents as well as by the friends of the new Constitution” of the “insufficiency of the present Confederation.”[1]
Hamilton went on to explain that the deficiencies of the Confederacy were supported by facts that were too stubborn to be refuted – “It is true, as has been before observed that facts, too stubborn to be resisted, have produced a species of general assent to the abstract proposition that there exist material defects in our national system;”[2]
In spite of their acknowledgement that the Confederacy did not work, the opponents to the Constitution just couldn’t let go of their failed system of government – “but the usefulness of the concession, on the part of the old adversaries of federal measures, is destroyed by a strenuous opposition to a remedy, upon the only principles that can give it a chance of success.”[3]
Hamilton didn’t stop there. He went on to list many of the things that were glaringly wrong with the Confederation. He prefaced his list of failings by warning of our national humiliation for clinging to a failed system – “We may indeed with propriety be said to have reached almost the last stage of national humiliation.”[4] Some of those failings, he noted, included heavy “debts to foreigners”; “valuable territories” and land “in the possession of a foreign power”; not able “to repel the aggression” of foreign powers; a weak “commerce”; lack of “respectability in the eyes of foreign powers”; “imbecility of our government” leaders creates lack of respect with foreign governments; and the “decrease in the value of land”.[5]
Are you beginning to see a pattern here? Are any of the listed failings under the failed system of the Confederacy not applicable to our day? What do you suppose Hamilton would have thought about $35 trillion in debt? We have been told that the Chinese own huge amounts of valuable farmlands and even sensitive lands located right next to some of our military bases. We watched in horror as the Congress and the President displayed their complete lack of will to repel the foreign invasion at our border. Inflation is destroying our ability to survive as our economy is once again plummeting towards another disastrous crash. Our dementia-ridden “President” spewing his unending stream of gaffes along with his awkward display of public embarrassments personifies the very definition of imbecile. We are at a point where any semblance of national respect exists only in the minds of the imbeciles in D.C.
To anyone objectively watching, it should be easy to see that only the names have changed but the disease is still the same. Everyone acknowledges our own failings as a nation, which mirror those in Hamilton’s day, but the one thing that has changed is the fact that, today, basically everybody is still clinging to our failed system of government. Just like the anti-constitutionalists of Hamilton’s day, no one seems willing to let go of their democracy and return to the Republic established by our U.S. Constitution. Like their forefathers before them, the clingers of today irrationally believe that all they have to do is just keep on voting within the system, and everything will be fine.
People today can’t see that their sacred democracy has not only created this mess, but it has made things so much worse than it was even in Hamilton’s day. Our failings have exploded into a massive spectacle of turbulence and contention. We now hear stories daily of chaos, murder and heretofore unimaginable, unamerican activities taking place all across our country. Patriots are being demonized and dehumanized by the media and others. J6ers have been denied due process and continue to receive cruel and unusual punishments.
We just learned that there are now five assassination teams intent on killing President Trump – three foreign and two domestic. Besides the three letter organizations who are obviously behind the two domestic teams, no one is asking how the three foreign teams even got here if not for our democratically uncontrolled border. Military-aged Chinese men and others are also invading our country through our democratically controlled open borders setting us up for asymmetric warfare. Proxy wars are being fought in foreign lands all in the name of democracy without following the Constitution’s mandate that war can only be fought with an official declaration from Congress.
Does anyone seriously believe the election-campaign rhetoric that these failings are all the fault of the Democrats? It is no different than it was during Hamilton’s day. Our failings have all resulted because we are clinging to a failed system and have rejected the Constitutional Republic our Framers gave us by trading it in for our disastrous, hybrid democratic government. By ignoring this fact and by participating in their failed government system believing that somehow things will get better, we are no different than the men and women who rejected the Constitution in favor of their failed Confederacy.
It's not just the Democrats. It’s democracy itself. Republican Mike Johnson doesn’t have the best interests of the Republic in mind any more than Hakeem Jeffries. Our democracy has created this spectacle. Like the Confederacy, it is a failed system, and I honestly can’t understand how so many of us are still so gullible and yet able to acknowledge the failures of this democratic system but still cling to it like it’s something to treasure.
Where do you think the politicians are headed with all their talk of saving democracy when they are now openly using the tools of tyrants? World leaders went to the U.N. this past week to herald the very same talking points you have been hearing from the Democrats. They want to save democracy by destroying free speech and killing Russians even at the risk of world war which, as we all should know, will kill 90% of everyone on the planet, but, hey, if they can save democracy, then it’s a sacrifice worth making, right?[6] In the meantime, they’ll just keep trying to assassinate or lock up their political opponents and jail anyone else who disagrees with them.[7]
To anyone with an IQ above 70, it should be easy to see that democracy is finally being exposed by the actual tyrants themselves. You know, the ones who have been running democracies around the world. Democracy always fails, as Madison warned, and turns into totalitarianism.
If we don’t wake up NOW and return to the Constitutional Republic as it was originally given to us, then we are at the last stage of our national humiliation.
